PiùBlu, a pro bono project by Lions Club Livorno Host dedicated to protecting the sea

Environmental protection as a concrete commitment. When actions truly make a difference.

Piublu

At Zaki, environmental protection is a core value, and we feel the need to turn it into tangible action. Living in a coastal city, we seized the opportunity to offer our pro bono collaboration to a marine-focused environmental communication project called PiùBlu, conceived and promoted by the Lions Club Livorno Host and endorsed by the Municipality of Livorno.

The project unfolds through several initiatives:

  • Demonstrative actions, including the creation of an environmental-themed mural.
  • Educational actions, featuring a trash art exhibition with 20 artworks displayed at the Livorno Aquarium, attracting over 50,000 visitors. The exhibition (still open to visitors) also led to the publication of a book/catalogue showcasing the 20 artworks alongside 20 practical tips for protecting the sea, distributed across the Costa Parks network, from the Genoa Aquarium to Acquafan in Riccione.
  • Informative actions, including a talk-style meeting where a fisherman and a marine biologist shared insights on the current health of our sea.
  • Concrete actions, such as the purchase and installation of an incentive-based plastic compactor, beach clean-up initiatives, and fundraising activities through events and crowdfunding campaigns.

We contributed to the project by focusing on strategic and operational needs related to fundraising and on promoting each initiative through press releases (reinforcing the communication already carried out by the Livorno Aquarium) and online campaigns. Thanks also to the involvement of publishing house Sillabe, these campaigns reached an exceptional testimonial — the artist Fiorello — who commented on and presented the PiùBlu Trash Art catalogue in one of his reels.

In addition to our agency, many other organizations contributed to the project’s realization, including the Livorno Aquarium (venue, logistics, meetings, press office), Sillabe Publishing House (production and distribution of the book/catalogue, social media), the Lions District Toscana 108LA (management of the trash art works and funds), the Leo Club Livorno together with the Sons of the Ocean association (beach clean-ups), OLT, Abate, L&D, Seatrag, Eventi Itali, Bagni Pancaldi SPA, Scart (Hera Group Artistic Project), Santucci, Municipality of Livorno, Castagneto Banca.
