International architect, designer and interior designer, Emanuele Colombi is a truly eclectic and creative personality — one that is hard to fit into pre-packaged frameworks. When he contacted us, he felt that his studio’s previous image no longer represented him and asked for a complete rebrand.
We went further — much further. We interviewed and photographed him for days, following him relentlessly through his daily life, with the aim of building a human-scale storytelling that would highlight the aesthetic substance, expressive refinement and formal rigor of his cosmopolitan culture.
An internationally acclaimed architect and designer, Emanuele Colombi has taken on an exceptionally wide range of projects — from residential to luxury hospitality, from retail to product design — always proposing a design concept rich in references and cross-pollination, and invariably tailored to each individual client. His studios — or rather, the creative hubs where he develops his projects — are based in Livorno and Paris, while his clients are primarily located in Israel, the United States and France.
In addition to interior design and design — including the creation of highly exclusive limited-edition objects, accessories and furnishings — the studio specializes in architecture and relies on an advanced project-driven skill set within the team, allowing it to act as a single point of contact for clients even on large-scale commissions.
Developing a project poised between branding and personal branding, while remaining credible to an अत्य refined audience, with the goal of finding the right form and the right substance for an eclectic, multifaceted talent. Emanuele Colombi represented a truly stimulating and “out of the ordinary” challenge — one we approached by completely deconstructing our design methodology, from analysis through to execution.
“When I design an interior, it’s as if I were telling a story.” It was this sentence that inspired us to bring his story to life. A story in which he stands as the protagonist beyond the limits of self-referentiality — told fearlessly, candidly and without restraint — putting his face and his heart into every image and every quote.
What we delivered
Starting from the monogram logo, conceived as an accent on his personality, through to the distinctive horizontal UX navigation of the desktop website — designed to be browsed almost like a book — every choice and solution we adopted was inspired by Emanuele Colombi: by his colors, blue and gold, and by his aesthetic vision, shaped by thesis and antithesis that attract each other, by alternative classicism, by rigor and cross-contamination, by hyperbolic cues and simplicity.
The outcome of this journey is a project of storytelling applied to personal branding which, although deployed across traditional communication tools, succeeded in conveying in a credible, effective and authentic way the distinctive uniqueness of a professional — primarily by leveraging his own voice.
